Transitioning from Year 6 to Year 7
We are fortunate in Sunbury to have two excellent state secondary schools to choose between and I would encourage all parents to take the time to attend the open nights and tours that are available. To help you through the transition process, your first point of call is your child’s classroom teacher. They will happily assist you with any queries and keep you informed about the processes and procedures to be followed.
In response to feedback from previous students about the challenges of being well organized at secondary school, Year 6 students are allocated a locker during term 4. In line with the expectations at secondary schools, they are required to collect their books and equipment for the next block periods and go the room where their next subject will be taught. This provides repeated opportunities for students to develop and improve their organizational skills within a familiar environment.
