Respectful Relationships
Sunbury Heights has been selected as a Lead School in promoting School Wide Positive Behaviours, Respectful Relationships and House Spirit. This involves mentoring partner schools.
We congratulate staff and students on making this happen.
Our school values of Kindness, Respect and Responsibility are explicitly taught, including examples of what these may look like in practice. 'Heights High Five' cards are often awarded to students who demonstrate these values. Students love trading these in at our 'Heights Hi Five Shop' for rewards, and to earn points for their House.
Our school has four Houses named after famous Australian sports people, including Herb Elliott, Dawn Fraser, Donald Bradman and Rod Laver.
'House Spirit T-shirts' are available which students may wear on 'House Spirit Days', or on their allocated sports days.
Students enjoy the sense of belonging associated with being part of their House group. Each House has created their own team chant, and during 'House Spirit' events, students mix with other grades and Year levels in activities involving sports, games, dance, craft and other creative activities. Our Year 6 students develop valuable leadership skills by playing an integral role in devising, preparing and running House Spirit activities.
