Our goal is that all our students will be literate, numerate and curious and our aim to build a platform of achievement in a caring environment . Curriculum and Programs

Sunbury Heights provides a comprehensive ,stimulating program which provides a diverse range of learning opportunities for all our students. Our curriculum is designed based on the Victorian Essential Learning Standards and encompasses the three major domains of :

Personal and Social Learning (Health, Physical Education, Personal Learning and Interpersonal Learning)

Discipline Based Learning (The Arts, English, Mathematics, Science , Humanities)

Interdisciplinary Learning (Communication , Design, Creativity and Technology, Information and Communication Technology, Thinking Processes)

Specialist Programs include Visual Arts, Physical Education, Perceptual Motor Program, and Science.

Students with additional educational needs are well catered for and there is an opportunity for students to participate in National Literacy and Numerac y Testing. In grades 4 and 6 scholarships and recognition both at a school and local government level are available to our students.

Students have the opportunity to participate in many extra curricula activities. Music Makes The Mind Go Round (prep -2) Footsteps Dance Sports grades 3-6 and instrumental programs in guitar and keyboard . Our students proudly perform at assemblies, school concerts and a range of community events.

Our camping and excursion program s are an integral part of the school program. Camps are offered in Years 4 and 6. We also have a number of excursions and incursions to compliment classroom studies.
